Peiyou Chang (US) - Guang Ling San 廣陵散 (Short version)
*Guang Ling San (Song of Guang Ling) may have existed since the 1st to 3rd centuries or from the court music of Sui dynasty in the 6th century. Peiyou studied this piece from the Ming dynasty handbook, SQMP. It is a very long piece, with about 42 sections, and more than 20 minutes long, but she played a short version which is about 9 minutes. This piece has the character of 聲多韻少 more Sheng than Yun (which means more right hand plucking sound than left hand sliding and vibrato sound). Music before the Ming dynasty has this character. After the Ming, qin music has developed to be more Yun than Sheng.
